Code of Conduct
STI Engage Code of Conduct is committed to making STI Engage 2025 productive and enjoyable for everyone by fostering a safe and supportive place to share ideas and learn from one another. We aim to exemplify the guiding values of our organization of integrity, transparency, collaboration, health equity, and innovation through a sex positive and affirming conference program. We ask all speakers, attendees, and exhibitors to please follow these guidelines:
- Behave professionally. All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience including people of many different backgrounds.
- Avoid harassment and sexist, racist, or exclusionary comments or jokes. Harassment includes sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, sexual attention or innuendo, deliberate intimidation, stalking, and photography or recording of an individual without consent. It also includes offensive comments or actions related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, chosen consensual sexual behavior, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion.
- Be kind to others and strive for inclusion. Do not insult or put down other attendees. Be thoughtful about your behavior and language and how it can impact those around you.
Participants asked to stop any inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately. Attendees violating these rules may be asked to leave the event at the sole discretion of the organizers without a refund of any charge. Any participant who wishes to report a violation of this policy is asked to speak, in confidence, to contact Stephanie White or Elizabeth Finley at stdengage@ncsddc.org .
